Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Chrome wire wheels, outside exhausts, Pilot Rays, dual spotlights. One of 36 original SJs, rebodied for Bill Harrah by Maurice Schwartz (formerly of Bohman & Schwartz) in the style of the Weymann Speedster Duesenberg (S N 2537) in the early 60s. Excellent condition for its age, shows some minor edge chips only.

Market commentary

Sold at the Harrah auction in 86 to Jerry Moore for $600K and still just about as it was then. A fine and stylish car with an enthusiastic history of its own that will be welcome at any event, and even more so on the road. Its rebody is more than offset by its style and that its an original SJ.
