331 Chrysler Hemi, four 97s on a Weiand intake, chrome long headers, 3 speed, eight straight exhaust pipes, slotted alloy wheels, whitewalls, chromed suspension with transverse leaf springs, tube shocks, hydraulic brakes and tubular front axle. Don Tognotti built 1961 Grand National Roadster Show class winner. Chopped 3 1 2, channeled 8 at the rear and 10 at the front, 4 stretched Deuce frame. Restored like new for 2001 Pebble Beach with excellent paint and chrome, good interior and chassis. Condition is orderly but showing age.
Market commentary
Todays seller bought this car for $216,000 during his buying spree at Barrett Jackson in 2006. Its a classic rod with a creditable history and even at a major discount it brought an appropriate price for its design, excecution, concept, history and restoration.
