Market commentary
Sold at Brooks auction at Quail Lodge in 2001 for $83,900, offered at Bonhams Quail in 2012 with a reported high bid of $135,000 and sold two years ago at Barrett-Jackson for $110,000. Pretty consistently presented throughout its auction appearances but it struck the right chord here at the Biltmore (maybe it was the location?) and brought a seriously generous price. Touring the moors doesn't get any better than this, but the new owner paid handsomely for the privilege.
