Equipment

Rear mounted spare, rumble seat, Black painted wire wheels.Restored like new except for the bullet hole in the right rear. The John Dillinger escape car, commandeered along with its then owner Robert Johnson by Dillinger, Homer Van Meter and John Hamilton to escape from the Little Bohemia Lodge. Shot up during subsequent pursuit. Bought by the current owners father directly from Johnson and documented with, among other things, a telegram from FBI files listing its engine number. Restored to appear in the movie Public Enemies.

Market commentary

No doubt the owner is more than a little disappointed in the result of this transaction but offerings like this fared poorly at this years Barrett Jackson. 12% commission to phone or internet bidder. Actual hammer $150,000.
