Equipment

1 of 2 Transformable Imperial Cabriolets built by Hibbard & Darrin using Silentlyte cast aluminum body construction. Chrome wire wheels, dual enclosed sidemounts, Trippes, rollup divider window, jump seats, smokers kit and vanity. First owners William Randolph Hearst and Marion Davies, used in Europe. An older show quality restoration that shows its age. Chassis no. from Elberts listing.

Market commentary

This is a great buy in a distinctive and attractive Hibbard & Darrin design: rare, transforms into fully open coachwork. As a Duesenberg its all things to all men and has a tantalizing history to go with it, lacking only a supercharger to make it king of the road. Auburn Fall 2003s top price.
