Equipment
RHD. Once owned by Alfred Moss, Stirlings father, and said to have hauled Stirling and his race car to his first race. Originally limousine bodied by Connaught, the builder of the current 4 door estate body now fitted is not identified. Stored for 40 years, engine removed and partially disassembled. Appears to substantially complete, including lighting and most of its copious dashboard instrumentation. Needs everything.
Market commentary
This price is more about the Stirling Moss history than about the car, but that is as it should be. The story places it uniquely in motor racing history while also making it a standout among Rolls Royces. It will be worth a lot in any historic racing paddock; united with an early Stirling Moss race car it will be a nearly priceless equipe with an honored place among much more famous and expensive automobiles in the paddock of Goodwood, Monaco or Monterey. It is well bought at this price.
