Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. Famous unused Brownsea Island Ghost chassis for which R R issued a new 3 year warranty in 1957 after being discovered by Rob Walker. Period coachwork from another Ghost. Elaborately restored and well presented after ownership by some of the most important collectors. Dual sidemounts, trunk, rear Auster windscreen, full weather equipment. Drum headlights have been replaced by what look like CAV. Restoration shows some age and use but overall is as good as its history deserves.

Market commentary

Brought $203,500 at Rick Carroll sale in 90, then $156,500 at Christies Tarrytown in 98. The Ghost market doesnt seem to have moved much in the last two years.
