Equipment
RHD. Dual cloth covered sidemounts, flying fenders, raked vee windshield, boa constrictor horn, rear brakes only. Early history unknown although circumstantial evidence indicates the coachwork was built in the 1919 1923 span and there is no record of earlier coachwork. Restored some years ago with decent paint, good upholstery and clean chassis and engine. Attractive skiff bodywork with good varnish. An unusual, unusually sporting and charismatic Rolls Royce.
Market commentary
Offered by Christies at Pebble Beach in 2002 where it no saled at $350,000, then by RM earlier this year in Arizona where it brought a bid of $725,000 against an optimistic $1 million estimate. That was the equivalent of GBP 492,000 which looks pretty good against this successful hammer bid of GBP 473,000.
