Market commentary
Moved slowly by tens to $600K. Reserve off at $730K. At $795K it was bumped to $810K and took the prize. For the record, this is not the Raceabout it wants to be, but a Raceabout re-creation. Had it been born as a Type 35 Raceabout this result would have been over $1 million, if not over $2 million depending upon its history. This is the experience: a light, lithe, free-revving T-head ending that in its day would have won races fresh off the showroom floor. The experience is worth the price it brought, and then some, and is a realistic value in a Mercer Raceabout that can be driven enthusiastically without undue concern for stone chips.
