Equipment

Origilly owned by Thomas Edison, given to the Edison Institute after his death and bought from the Institute by the present owner. Liftup divider and windows. An older restoration to concours condition no longer quite fresh but still very good throughout with strong, uncracked, paint. Robert Gottlieb Collection.

Market commentary

The auctioneers made the point that by considering Thomas Edison and the Edison Institute as one owner this is a 2 owner car. It took awhile for the bidding to take off on this unique and historic piece but the result, which is mostly based on the Thomas Edison history, should be very satisfying both to Bob Gottliebs estate and to historians.
