Equipment
RHD. Dual right side spares, acetylene headlights, kerosene sidelights. Repainted at some point but just applied over the old and curdled paint. Lamps redone. Passengers seat back bolster duct tape repaired. New seat cushions provided to replace the originals for driving. A wonderful piece long owned by Rod Blood of West Newton, Mass. Sold to Harrahs in the disposition of Bloods estate at the highest price in the auction. Cylinder barrels, pistons and valves replaced some years ago, otherwise still as it was owned and driven by Rod Blood, an historic and important car that should never be restored.
Market commentary
Its very surprising that this wonderfully preserved, complete and original old Packard didnt manage to bring enough to satisfy its owner, or that the owner wasnt satisfied if there was money at the reported high bid. It is a marvelous car.
