Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. Chassis and engine discovered in a Shropshire farmers field, probably by P.J. Lumsden of Henley Hall, Ludlow, powering a water pump. Acquired by the PMs brother, Dr. H.O. Attlee, and fitted with this ex Daimler body. Owned twice by Millard Newman and restored by him. Now showing its age but still an impressive and imposing automobile. Lucas KoR acetylene headlights, Lucas oil sidelights, opening windshield, Elliott speedo, lighted chauffeurs instruction panel, roof rack. A one of a kind.

Market commentary

Don Williams wanted a million bucks for this Ghost in 1992; Christies offered it in London earlier this year with a +325,000 low estimate and it stopped here at +225,000. Its a spectacular motor car but begs for a new home in the UK or Europe as the dollars decline has rapidly priced it out of the US market.
