Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Electric lighting, leftside tiller steering, wood spoke wheels, original GE charging station. Pierce A. Miller Carriage Collection.

Condition

Largely original except for a crude repaint in black over the original blue, replacement of the leather mudguards with enameled cloth and replaced roof covering. Retains important items like its curved glass windows, Weston meter (#16627), motor (#4663) and embossed original interior leather trim. Originally delivered in California according to the factory records.

Market commentary

A straightforward restoration project that seems to have survived largely intact and without trauma. The GE charging station is a marvelous find and looks like it was created for the set of a Frankenstein movie, fortunately no longer with its mercury-filled rectifier but otherwise complete. It attracted a great deal of attention and brought a healthy price whether as a restoration project or a relic to be preserved to stand proudly beside other failed electric cars, like Fisker.
