Model overview
Model description
2007 marked the most successful sales year of the C6 Chevrolet Corvette, with over 40,000 units sold. The C6 was hitting on all cylinders, with Coupe, Convertible, and Z06 variants available. These were joined by an Indy 500 Pace Convertible and a Ron Fellows special edition of the Z06.
The base Coupe and Convertible variants still had the 6-liter LS2 V8 under the hood. When new, it made 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, shifting through either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The shift-times for the paddle-shifts were reduced for 2007.
The top dog for 2007 was still the Corvette Z06, with its 7.0-liter V8 making 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. A new special edition for 2007 was the “Ron Fellows American Le Mans Series Touring Class 1 Champion Corvette Z06,” finished in Arctic White with red slashes on the front fender. This was a nod to the Corvette Grand Sport, as well as Fellows’ native Canada. It featured carbon and red interior accents, and 399 of these special editions sold.
The Indy 500 Pace Car replica introduced a new color called Atomic Orange, which was available to the rest of the lineup. There were no major mechanical changes from the 2006 to the 2007 Corvette.
