Scottsdale Auction Results: Thursday video recap

Hagerty valuation experts Dave Kinney (Hagerty Price Guide), Randy Nonnenberg (bringatrailer.com) and Rob Sass bring you Thursday’s Scottsdale auction results from Bonhams, Russo and Steele, RM Auctions and Barrett-Jackson.

Thursday brought the transition from the preliminaries into primetime as Barrett-Jackson was joined by Russo and Steele, Bonhams and RM. Barrett added another $10 million to its previous two-day total of about $12 million, for a total of $22 million. Its top seller was the quarter million dollar charity sale of a 2010 Dodge Charger NASCAR.

RM sold 50 cars for just under $8 million, with its top seller just barely failing to hit the million-dollar mark. The car in question was a beautiful triple black BMW 507 roadster.

Bonhams held its first-ever Scottsdale sale, a one-night event in which it sold $5.5 million, with a very imposing Mercedes-Benz 540K cabriolet as its top car. Finally, it was Russo and Steele’s first night. Russo put the memories of the disastrous 2010 storm further behind it with a fine first night result just shy of $3 million.

The total for all the auction companies so far is about $38 million. Last year at this point we were at $30 million, although those figures obviously didn’t include a sale by Scottsdale newbie Bonhams.

Listed below are the raw results witnessed by Hagerty during the live auction. These numbers do not factor in any post-sale deals that may occur, but they do include the appropriate buyer’s premiums.
