This 30-year-old Porsche Carrera RS is still brand new

An as-new, unregistered 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera RS is now up for sale on auction website Collecting Cars. The Guards Red coupe has just 101 miles on the odometer and has done only 11 miles since its first service.

The RS is powered by a 3.6-liter 264-hp air-cooled flat-six driving the rear-wheels via a G50 five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Said to be in factory-fresh condition, the interior features Recaro leather bucket seats in black leather with contrasting grey inserts. At the time of writing bidding stood at over $281,000 with the auction set to close on Sunday May 16.

The car is just one of a group of 23 Porsches for sale as part of the 38-strong Leonard Collection. Among the highlights include a “unicorn” 1973 911 Carrera 2.7 RS which was previously owned by Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay. The car is one of only 11 examples painted in Aubergine and it has undergone a bare-metal restoration and servicing that cost a mighty $162,000. It’s seen rather more use than the 964 with 73,295 miles on the clock but that’s not deterring bidders who have already pledged in excess of $436,000.

Even this aubergine dream machine isn’t the most valuable of the Porsches in the collection, however. A Fayence yellow 2006 Carrera GT is the flagship sale with bidding currently at over a million dollars. The car is truly one of a kind thanks to that wild paint and a host of leather interior accoutrements from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Its 5.7-liter naturally-aspirated V-10 engine drives the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a complex four-disc clutch. The car was originally supplied to an owner in Germany and registered in the U.K. in 2021.

On the off-chance that these Porsches don’t float your boat, the Leonard Collection also includes a number of prancing horses. There’s a 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, a 2008 F430 Scuderia and two F512Ms. You’ll also find a fully-restored 1972 Corvette Stingray and a 2005 Ford GT.

If the bidding is a bit much then you can still enjoy Chris Harris’s tour of the collection in the video below.
