Four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel’s loyalty to Ferrari appears to have vanished the moment his contract wasn’t renewed. Now racing for Aston Martin, the German has decided to sell his car collection, which includes five very special examples of the Modena marque. Two Mercedes-AMG models, and a BMW are also up for sale with British dealer Tom Hartley Jr. Many of these cars are already attracting offers, and as of this writing only the Z8, SLS, and Enzo remain unsold.

Vettel won his back-to-back world titles with Red Bull Racing from 2010–2013 before moving to Ferrari to great fanfare in 2015. His five years with the Italian team didn’t exactly go to plan, and his best performances saw him finish runner up to Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes in 2017 and 2018. Having been replaced by Spain’s Carlos Sainz Jr. for 2021, Vettel now looks like he wants to put his Ferrari days behind him by selling his rare road cars. So what’s up for grabs?

2016 LaFerrari

Vettel’s LaFerrari is one of the last made and it was bought new by the German champ. It was specified with a Nero roof to contrast with the Rosso Corsa paintwork. Inside, the car is trimmed in black Alcantara with Rosso stitching including a Vettel logo stitched into the headrests. Other extras include a four-point race harness, telemetry system, audio system, track camera, suspension lift kit, red calipers, sports exhaust, and various carbon trim elements. Despite only having covered just over 400 km (248 miles) the car has been serviced annually.

2004 Ferrari Enzo

This Rosso Corsa Ferrari Enzo was delivered new to a customer in Germany before Vettel took ownership. It has done a paltry 1112 miles in 16 years and spent most of its life under its Ferrari car cover in Vettel’s collection in Switzerland. It comes with racing seats, Rosso instruments, a full service history, and Ferrari “Red Book” certification to confirm its originality.

1996 Ferrari F50

Vettel picked up this Ferrari F50 from its original Danish owner in 2015 to celebrate joining the Scuderia. With 4312 miles on the clock, it has seen rather more use than the Enzo and LaFerrari but is said to be in wonderful original condition. It is certified as such by Ferrari and has been regularly serviced, as evidenced by a comprehensive history file.

2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale

In the same year Vettel acquired the F50 he also ordered his first new Ferrari from the factory. Custom-prepared at the Ferrari Atelier the 458 Speciale is finished in Nero Stellato with Grigio Corsa racing stripes. The car is adorned with a host of carbon trim, yellow brake calipers, and and a titanium exhaust. Inside there are carbon-fiber race seats with Vettel and Ferrari prancing horse logos stitched into the headrests. Four-point race harnesses are fitted, and there’s plenty of Alcantara trim in Grigio hue. The odometer is reads 1905 miles, and, like the rest of the stable, the car has been religiously serviced every year.

2016 Ferrari F12tdf

In 2016 Vettel got a little bolder with his color choices, specifying his F12tdf in Giallo Triplo Strato triple layer paint with matching yellow brake callipers behind the 20-inch forged Diamond rims. Once again you’ll find carbon-fiber trim in the engine bay, as well as in the headlamp surrounds and sills. The interior is in Nero Alcantara with the Vettel and Ferrari logos in the seats, plus such other extras as a passenger display, and a high-power audio system. Vettel has hardly driven this one at all, with the mileage at 738 miles, most of which were probably done going back and forth for servicing.

2009 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series

As if the trophy for taking victory at the first ever Abu Dhabi Grand Prix wasn’t enough, Vettel was given this AMG to take home as well. Only 350 examples of this ultimate SL were made, with its twin-turbo 6.0-liter V-12 providing 680 hp. The wide-body SL with carbon-fiber roof and spoiler would reach 62 mph in 3.8 seconds and go on to an F1-like 199 mph. Driving for Red Bull at the time with Renault power, we imagine the company car on offer wasn’t quite this nice, and Vettel put 1752 miles on the Benz’s clock.

2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Vettel must have rather liked his free AMG, because a year later he decided to spend his own money on one. This time it is was the SLS in Designo Allanite Grey with a Graphite Exclusive Nappa leather interior. Vettel specified carbon ceramic-brakes with yellow calipers and a Bang & Olufsen audio system. With 4305 miles under its belt, it’s the car in which Vettel spent most time behind the wheel.

2002 BMW Z8

When the World (Championship) is not enough what do you do? In Vettel’s case you buy a BMW Z8 as driven by the world’s best-known spy, James Bond. Vettel went to great efforts to get hold of this 2002 Z8, buying it in 2015 from the U.S.A where it was with its second owner. On arrival at his home in Switzerland, the car’s electrics were converted to European specification. The silver metallic paintwork and black Nappa leather trim have been meticulously cared for over the car’s 13,494 miles. It’s for sale at £175,000 ($244,000).
