By Jimny! This Suzuki has Six Wheels

Japan’s cutest 4×4 by far, the Suzuki Jimny, has been turned into a striking six-wheeled AMG G63 lookalike by a British JDM fan.

The 2019 Jimny was imported as standard but, with inspiration from renders he’d seen online, its owner decided to create a small-scale tribute to the wadi-bashing Benz.

He sent the car to Mocho Fabrication in the Cotswolds who extended the chassis and fitted a third axle from another Jimny. Original Suzuki parts were also used for the additional rear fenders, and it required major custom metalworking to create the rear deck.

The bodywork was then finished in Audi Nardo Grey and chunky all-terrain tires were fitted to the black alloy wheels, with a spare mounted on the tailgate. The interior was re-trimmed in black and grey quilted leather for a more luxurious look, and updated to include an Apple CarPlay-ready audio system.

Described as “a huge project… finished to an extremely high standard” this unique Jimny is more show than go, however. That third axle isn’t driven and the 1.5-liter, 100-hp engine is mated to an automatic transmission, so don’t expect any increase in performance.

Could that be the reason that this joyful Jimny failed to sell at a recent Historics auction and is on eBay now for £45,000 or $58,000?

If you think that sounds spendy for a Jimny consider that tuner Twisted sells its, admittedly rather more potent, 167-hp cars for over $90,000.

After watching Ed Bolian try to drive a 6-wheeled Land Rover off road with only one driven rear axle, I can confidently say this will have the same issue of being LESS useful offroad than stock. Non driven tag axles do you ZERO favours past increasing wight capacity.

Unique and fashionable. A little like a pink G-wagon. Bet it would sell in Monoco or Dubai.
