1919 Auburn Beauty-Six

The big news for 1919 was that the Auburn Automobile Company had new owners. After introducing the Beauty-Six, the Eckhart family sold controlling interest in the firm to a group of Chicago investors. Included in this group was chewing gum maker William Wrigley, Jr. For the first time, the Auburn automobile was marketed on a national scale. In addition, new retail outlets were obtained where Auburn had previously lacked representation. 1919 was a record sales year as more than 6,000 new Auburns were sold. A late model year introduction was the Beauty-Six Roadster. This example is painted in its original striking color scheme of Rolls-Royce Blue with black fenders. Only a handful of Beauty-Six Roadsters have survived. This car sold new for $1,595. The wheelbase of this vehicle is 120 inches and it weighs 2,885 lbs.
