Auburn Automobile Company designer Gordon Buehrig created the Cord 810 and 812 line of body styles. This 1937 Cord is a well restored, numbers-matching example of the phaeton body style. The phaeton seats five people and has a convertible top. The Auburn Automobile Company offered six different body styles for the Cord in 1937. All styles included the option of a supercharger. A dealer installed option included additional chromium vents located at the front of the hood. Since the supercharged Cords were inclined to overheat, the hood vents were a means to provide additional air to the engine in an effort to keep it running cooler. The wheelbase measures 125 inches, and weighs 3,500 lbs. As new, the supercharged phaeton cost $2,595.
