Fresh from his styling triumphs of the Duesenberg Model J and the Cord L-29, Alan Leamy was tasked with restyling the upcoming Auburn automobile line for 1931. Leamy gracefully incorporated the hallmark streamer molding which swept down from the center of the radiator and along the beltline of the vehicle. The long sweeping fender line mimicked the angle of the streamer molding. The tall and slender radiator shell was integrated into the body to create a more streamlined look. The addition of the dealer-installed Pilot-Ray lamps, that turned with the wheels, added a touch of technological innovation. The newly styled Auburn received a much needed image boost and was Auburn’s best selling model year with 32,911 units sold.

The wheelbase is 127 inches and it weighs 3,070 lbs.
