1966 Impala Convertible
4th Generation 1960 - 1969. Named Impala after the graceful African antelope, which was used as the car's logo. A body. Upgraded / performance improvements including springs, shocks and special sintered metallic brake linings. From 1964 through 1967, the Super Sport was a separate model, with its own VIN prefix which made it other than just a trim package for the bel air. This car has small block, automatic transmission and factory AC. Power Steering, Power front Brakes, Power Top in great shape with glass back window. Car runs and drives excellent.
Paint and exterior
R code Regal Red. Very Nice Paint job with good lines and gaps. White convertible top which creates a nice contrast. Good sheet metal straight lines good gaps. Rectangular smaller sized rear brake/turn signal lamps and lenses above the rear bumper create a clean, symmetrical, balanced look. Large wrap around front bumper w / horizontal lined opens mimic the smaller horizontal lined grille. Dual side by side headlights with bezels complete this generation unique front appearance.
Upholstery and interior
Correct Black vinyl Bucket Seats. Very nice carpeting, door panels, dash pad. Correct steering wheel with half circular chrome bar & two spoke horn. Impala center cap. Beautiful chrome, trim & emblems.
Engine
Original Engine: No
Rebuilt 400. The largest Generation I small-block the 400 (6.6 liter). Only engine with a 4.125-inch bore and the 3.75-inch-stroke crankshaft. First year - 1970. Holley 4 Barrel Carburetor. HEI electronic ignition, stainless steel headers, Edelbrock chrome valve covers and matching air cleaner. Heavy duty 8 mm plug wires. Heavy duty flex fan. New stainless steel starter. Aluminum performance dual plane intake manifold. Headers.
