1938 Dodge RC
According to Chrysler historical records, this truck was built on October 6, 1937 in Charles City, Iowa and delivered to a dealer in Columbus, Kansas. Based on the limited information I have, it appears to have been built to its current configuration by some good ole' boy in or around Joplin, Missouri. It was listed for sale on ebay in April 2014, sold to a flipper in Southern California who sold it to me about two months later. I wonder sometimes what the original owner, probably a farmer, would have thought knowing his old truck would still be pounding the pavement over 80 years later!
This truck has a number of distinctive features like the unique to '38 Ram hood ornament, the cloisonne Dodge Brothers emblem at the top of the radiator grill and the ultra-rare cloisonne crank hole cover at the bottom of the radiator grill.
