1966 Ford Ranchero
This 1966 Ford Ranchero Custom was purchased in Fredericksburg, VA in January, 2019 from the second owner. It is one of only 1,242 Custom Rancheros for the model year that has Bucket Seats from the factory. It also houses a factory A-Code 289 4bbl V8 under the hood as well as a Factory 4-speed Transmission. This Ranchero still wears its original color of Wimbledon White with Black interior and a factory center console. The 1966 Ranchero is unique in styling in that it is a transition year in which the front end is derived from a Falcon and the rear of the vehicle is all Fairlane as it would be in 1967 as well. The concept of a combination car & truck began in 1957 with the first Ranchero being based on the full-sized Fairlane chassis; however, in 1960 the Ranchero began appearing on Ford's new compact entry into the market, the Falcon where it remained until 1968.
