1958 Chevrolet Impala
Insurance1958 Impala believed to be the Original 283 V8 Engine. Assembly plant Oakland, California. Frame off restoration, but it was long ago and could use some freshening up. All mechanicals have recently been gone through and car runs and drives great! X Frame. Owned by the same family for decades ( not the original owners but close to it ). It's a big, barrel-shaped car with bulges everywhere, and the fins break that theme, bumping up out of the trunk cutlines, sweeping forward well into the passenger compartment, and cutting back into the quarter panels. Early designs of the car considered a mid 50’s corvette like front. She’s beautiful and was outside the norm yet cutting-edge for the time. Big 11 inch drum brakes means she stops well. Not a drag racing car, a true crusier. Newer wide white wall tires with correct hubcaps.

Paint and exterior
Born Silver Blue 930. Paint is old but car was garage kept. Presents well. Great lines, sheet metal, gaps.
Upholstery and interior
Blue three-tone striped pattern cloth seat inserts surrounded by blue vinyl, matching color formed, anodized aluminum panels on the doors and interior quarters. Interior is in good overall condition and finished in the original color, Car has its factory steering wheel, original AM radio, center arm rest back seat.

283.04 cubic inch small block. Compression Ratio 8.5 :1. Displacement 283.04. Torque 275@2400 ft/lbs. Hydraulic lifters. Generator. Factory Snorkel air cleaner. Cast iron intake and exhaust manifolds. Correct Raised Chevrolet letter valve covers. Extra wide original metal 2 piece fan shroud. I love em. Come off without removing fan. All the parts just as they were in 58 but as mentioned full restoration a number of years ago.
