1966 Chevrolet Corvette

1966 C2 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible. Matching Numbers 427 – 425 Horsepower. The car underwent an extensive professional frame off restoration. Features rare Special bubble hood first seen on 1965 Corvettes. New style “egg-crate” grille insert which replaced the horizontal bars. Restyled wheel covers and all-new design rocker trim. The 66 big block heavy breather was an amazingly fast car, with a 0-60 time of just 4.8 seconds, 0-100 mph time of 11.2 seconds, and a top speed of 140 miles per hour (when properly equipped with the short 4.11:1 gearing.)  Even cars equipped with 3.36:1 ratio still ran 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds with a standing quarter mile of 12.8 seconds at 112 miles per hour (source Car and Driver). Real Knock off wheels, Side Pipes, Teakwood Steering Wheel and Rare Headrest Seats (only 1,033 cars had this option in 1966), Accident-Free Body and Solid Frame. Original jack and tools including mallet for knock off wheels. Factory side pipes that gave the Sting Ray a menacing look and loud throaty exhaust rumble at idle sitting next to this car in another car all you could do was stare. If in another muscle car you just nodded your head. A Bel Air weighed about 400 lbs more. Original Delco Radio.

L72, 425 horsepower engine. 11:1 compression, larger intake valves, a big Holley four-barrel carburetor, aluminum manifold, solid mechanical lifters, and four-hole (instead of two-hole) main bearing caps. Cast-iron exhaust manifolds. Chrome heat shield over distributor. Chrome air cleaner Flying 427 425 horse turbo-jet flag. Wire braided spark plug wire covers. GM radiator hoses. Heavy duty clutch fan. Radiator tanked and rodded.
