1958 Dodge 100 Series Sweptside Custom Resto Mod Pickup

Referred to as “Power Giant” trucks, rarely heard today, this truck gives that normanclayture a whole new meaning. Featuring Chrysler’s “Forward Look” styling theme. It was a completely new look, a single-piece hood, opening to a full 90-degrees. Was an automatic transmission, TorqueFlite, with push-button control on the dashboard. The super unique and beautiful body lines were actually created by replacing the stock rear fenders with the rear quarter panels from the Dodge two-door station wagon! The body is completely shaved representing hours and hours a body work. Born a 315 cu in 200 hp two barrel. Front and rear power disc brakes. Ford 9 inch rear end. “Master line” axles. Fully tubbed rear fender wells to accommodate monster Mickey Thompson tires. Cross support welded Wishbone rear suspension arms. Vertical leaf spring. Aluminum fuel cell. Electronic fuel pump with shut off inside the cab. Tubular full race chassis.

Paint and exterior

Professionally sprayed red paint on a perfect body appears to be inches thick. Multiple layers of clear coat. No tailgate to slow this baby down. Custom inlayed brake lights. Custom polished aluminum headlight beauty rings. The only chrome on the outside of the truck is the four grill pieces ( upper ) the lower grill insert in between the running lights has been removed to increase airflow.

454 Big block Chevy engine bored and stroked out to a 502. 6 inch dual plane high-rise aluminum intake manifold topped with a 1050 CFM double pumper carburetor. Electronic ignition with MSD coil. Monroso chrome valve covers. Aluminum deep sump oil pan. Ribbed aluminum TCI transmission pan. Headers with 3 inch pipe turned out in front of the back wheels.
