First introduced in 1948. "Above & Beyond" has been their tag line forever. Owned by British Leyland (1968–1978). Originally a utilitarian 4WD off-roader. Today Land Rover comprises of upmarket / luxury sport utility vehicles. Land Rover was granted a Royal Warrant by King George VI in 1951. Manufactured in Spain. The majority of the parts were shipped from England. Land Rover Santanas were manufactured under license by the Metalurgica de Santa Ana company in Linares Spain from 1958 to 1990. 3/5-door wagon body type. 4x4 part-time (rear permanent, front engaged manually in off-road conditions), transfer case 2.35/1.148, manual 4-speed gearbox diesel fuel engine with displacement: 2286 cm3 / 139.4 cui, advertised power: 50 kW / 67 hp / 68 PS ( SAE ), torque: 142 Nm / 105 lb-ft, more data: 1970 4 109 tech o metalico diesel 2.25 L.
