1963 Thunderbird Roadster Convertible
Another 3 year body style, after the “Squarebird’s” three-year was is the completly restyled “Bullet Bird” from 1961 to 1963. Featuring an even bigger engine with Dearborn’s FE V8 enlarged to 390 cubic inches in ’61. A Thunderbird convertible paced the Indianapolis 500 in 1961 and two new models debuted the following year. With walnut interior highlights and an amazing ribbed stainless steel dash panel that merged with matching stainless trim on the door panels. The famous Sports Roadster, with the 2 seater cock pit style interior were appeased by covering the backseat with a streamlined tonneau cover. She sits on Dazzling Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels with mock knock off caps. Standard Equipment, AM Radio, Automatic Transmission! Bucket Seats with storage console. Heater/Defroster, Power Brakes. Power Steering. Power windows and remote manual adjustable drivers side mirror. In a lot of Thunderbird enthusiasts opinions, one of the most remarkable t birds ever made. Pure design ingenuity, with a suggestion of speed and power. New gas tank and hood hinges. Very nice convertible top.
Paint and exterior
M code Corinthian White Basecoat clearcoat paint in good quality. Lines and gaps look good, not show car. Short fins. Big chrome wraparound rocket style rear taillights beautifully molded in the bumper. Nice front and rear bumpers. Mock chrome hood scoop to allow for the larger 390 BB and taller 4 barrel carburetor air cleaner.
Upholstery and interior
Interior new black vinyl door panels. New arm rests. Factory correct steering wheel with prominent T BIRD horn cap. Modern am / fm stereo. Three mock chrome grill intakes on the doors. amazing design were the front bumper curves up and meets the trim on top of the fender, inset into the body.
