Bought new by two brothers on a farm, they used it 'till '64, then junked in the woods. Older brother had died, Gene gave it to me when I asked about the car, I pulled it home, got it running. Did a mostly full restoration nine years ago, Gene got a ride in it before he died, he cried when he got in, so many old memories, hunting trips and more.

Paint and exterior

We did the paint just as it was when new, most of these earlier 'Jeeps' were maroon in front, then as a 'woodie' station wagon, it has a two piece tailgate, two sliding windows at the sides, nice cowl vent for summer vent'.

Upholstery and Interior

We re-did the seats, installed all new floor wood strips, varnished as original. Headliner is a mesh type cloth, looks as it did new. Heater & defrost, a nice in-dash radio.

Engine

Original Engine: Yes

L-134 cid 4 cyl., I overhauled this, new rings and valve job, all new bearings, new clutch.

Mileage

We haven't driven this car a lot but it was featured at the big 'Fifties' car show in St.Paul a few years ago, it is fun to drive, is 2WD, rides very well also.

Wheels and tires

All original wheels, I had a tough time finding the two needed, the hub caps ONLY fit these wheels, I wanted it as when new.

Brakes

Brakes are as original, new lining.

Transmission

Syncro' 3 speed

Title

Never wrecked, it had good care by the original owners and was never abused, bumpers still good, doors work nice, it's an eye-catcher wherever it goes.
