1987 Mercedes-Benz 300TD
Well cared for and rare 1987 W124 300TD Turbo Diesel Wagon driven daily for some years then turned project car with approximately 425,000 miles.
This is an all original, solid and straight vehicle, with a clean title, and original paint and interior. Kids, divorce and work stopped loving restoration I began about 9 years ago and vehicle has been stored outside since then in the Boston area.
Owned and driven as a reliable daily driver for 5 years from when I purchased it in 2008 until 2013 when I took it off the road. When it was a daily driver it was always serviced and repaired by a local Mercedes Specialist. Many original parts were replaced or repaired. I also accumulated a large selection of restoration parts, particularly interior seats.
Since being taken off the road it was started and driven briefly every few months although never driven or stored on or near salted roadways. Always started on first try, shifted and and drove normally with little to no smoke.
Paint and exterior
Original factory paint job. Shows some wear from 425,000 miles but still in remarkably good shape
Upholstery and interior
It's a project car. Interior is in good shape and I have OEM replacements for those that need some work.
Mileage
I replaced the speedometer cable and instrument cluster just as the car was approaching 400,000 miles so the exact mileage is uncertain, but not many miles put on it before starting restoration so safe to assume mileage in the neighborhood of 425,000
Wheels and tires
6 MB original cast wheels
Brakes
Stock MB brakes. Always well cared for but as the vehicle hasn't been driven a lot, brakes will need attention.
