Jakob uses his car knowledge every day in the Hagerty call center while interacting with clients. It helps him make sure he's offering the best policy and coverage based on the client's cars and how they use them.
How did you get involved with collector cars?
I guess it runs in my blood. My grandpa is an old hot-rodder and an ex-Ford engineer. My first project was a '91 Cadillac Sedan deVille that I customized heavily and used for shows.
What's your dream car?
A '32 Ford five-window. Chopped, channeled, Z'ed frame; a flathead V8; a set of Offenhauser heads, a four pack of Stromberg carbs with four speed manual transmission
If you were a car, what car would you be?
'87 Buick GNX: It's all black, and mean! And it's the fastest production car out of the '80s.
