Kyle Francis, Oregon
Kyle is currently the Regional Territory Manager for Hagerty Insurance in the greater Portland, Oregon area. He grew up in Ormond Beach, FL, which is close to Daytona Beach and the place where his love for cars began. His father usually had a project in the garage, whether it was a 65’ Cobra or a 32’ Ford Hotrod, and his step father was a drag racer with a shop of his own. Kyle grew up going to the Daytona 500, the Rolex 24, and we would watch pretty much anything that had wheels fly around the track. There was also always a car or boat show in the area and he would be present at all of them.
Kyle attended Florida State University and soon after began a career of insurance with an independent agent. For five and a half years he worked in Commercial, Personal and even had some experience with Health Insurance, although his real love was working auto shows with hobbyist and specialty auto lines.
What is unique about the hobby in your territory?
Portland and the surrounding area are unique because of the huge community and wide range of autos. We have Volkswagen, MG, Mini, and BMW owners, along with the American car groups, and those don’t even scratch the surface of the clubs in the area. There is also the beautiful landscape that begs you to get your car out, as well as the rivers and lakes that are perfect for boating.

Why Hagerty? What excites you about what we do?
There are plenty of other insurance companies out there, but that is just it; Hagerty is a car company that sells insurance--and not the other way around. I love being able to call a colleague who knows more about a certain manufacturer to figure out how to insure it properly. We are all car nerds!
Our Youth Programs are another aspect of the company that is very important to me. We donate 10% of our premium revenue right back into youth programs, such as our Driving Experience events that teach kids to drive manual cars in really cool classics which introduces them to the hobby at a young age.
