(Traverse City, Michigan) – Hagerty is pleased to announce the selection of TART Trails, Inc. as its 2015 Nonprofit Partner. This will be the second year of the company’s Annual Nonprofit Partner program.
TART will receive a financial investment of $25,000. In addition, Hagerty will provide employee service and pro bono consulting to boost the organization’s internal capacity.
“TART shares in our commitment to economic development,”stated McKeel Hagerty, President and CEO. “We share a common vision to provide healthy, accessible trail systems to benefit residents in the Grand Traverse region with a concentration on driving infrastructure that will help our increasingly linked communities grow. Our employees anticipate being able to work side-by-side with the organization’s leadership in 2015 to leverage additional resources and, together, positively impact our community.”
TART participated in a competitive review process for the partnership opportunity and made its leadership available for a site visit the first week in December.
“We are thrilled and grateful to have been chosen as Hagerty's Nonprofit Ppartner for 2015,” stated Julie Clark, Executive Director of TART. “The timing couldn't be better. Our board and staff just updated our strategic plan and we are excited to leverage the incredible talent and resources Hagerty offers to help us achieve our vision of a world-class trail system in our community.”
The selection of Hagerty’s Annual Nonprofit Partner is the culmination of a year of giving that has generated over 10,000 hours of service to communities in which the company operates. Year-end support is the largest campaign, with three weeks of service and donation drives at Hagerty. Year-end giving kicked off the week of Thanksgiving and included adopting 97 elementary-aged students in the Traverse City Area Public Schools for Christmas. Additionally, Hagerty held donation drives at its headquarters in Traverse City and its offices in Denver, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Locally, Hagerty provided the following donations:
- Gently used or new coats for Goodwill of Northern Michigan
- Toys for Toys for Tots
- School supplies for Traverse City High School
- Arts and craft supplies for Pete’s Place Teen Shelter and the Great Lakes Children’s Museum
