Traverse City, Mich. (Sunday, April 01, 2007) - Hagerty Plus, an affiliate of Hagerty Insurance Agency, announces a new Smart Collecting Seminar, “Take Your Best Shot: Collector Car Photography,” to be held during Monterey Classic Car Weekend. The seminar – held Saturday, August 18th at the Quail Lodge from 9 a.m. until noon – is part of the Smart Collecting Seminar Series, which offers enthusiasts the chance to tap into the expertise of some of the world’s most renowned collector car experts.
Of interest to anyone involved in cars and/or photography, the “Take Your Best Shot” seminar will be right in the thick of the popular classic car weekend, so participants won’t miss a thing. And, everything you learn on Saturday can be used to photograph cars on Sunday at the famed Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Winston Goodfellow, accomplished automotive photographer, historian and writer, teaches the basics, and offers tips and tricks on how to get the best photo from your best vehicle. Here's your chance to learn from a master and learn the “do’s and don’ts” of shooting effective images.
In a combination of classroom and field work, participants will work alongside Goodfellow, photographing cars in motion as well as capturing exterior and interior shots. Feedback will be provided to help guide improvement of participants’ photography and to develop your skills and eye. Familiarity with your equipment, choosing your location, and knowing the pitfalls, traps and challenges to avoid will be covered in this in-depth half-day event.
“We began the Smart Collecting Seminar Series to give enthusiasts an edge on subjects such as vehicle valuation, auction basics and authentication,” says McKeel Hagerty, CEO of Hagerty.
“We realize that one of the most enjoyable aspects of these world-famous events is bringing back memories of your favorite car or subject. This weekend includes the best cars in the world, and we are happy to be able to help enthusiasts capture their best shot of every exciting vehicle on display here and at future events.”
Continental-style breakfast and lunch will be served, and take-home materials are included with the seminar. Cost is $275 and registration deadline is Friday, August 3. Enrollment is limited, so register today at shop.hagerty.com or call 888-310-8020, menu option #3.
