Fast 9, of course, stars the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody

Dodge likes to use Vin Diesel and the F&F franchise to tease its upcoming vehicles. That’s how the Challenger SRT Demon’s widebody was “leaked” two years ago, and next year, in Fast 9, you will see an extensively modified Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody. This has been confirmed by Diesel himself.

The teaser campaign began when earlier this year, Dodge’s Head of Design Mark Trostle brought a camouflaged Dodge Charger Widebody Concept to Spring Fest 14, FCA’s spring party at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, California.

Then came the announcement that from the 2020 model year, all SRT Charger Hellcats get the 3.5-inches wider fender flares, as well as the 20-inch by 11-inch wheels wrapped in wider Pirelli 305/35ZR20 tires. But for the movie, Dodge wouldn’t stop just there.

As the folks at Motor1 pointed out, compared to Dodge’s production 2020 Widebody Chargers, Fast 9’s stunt car had the Mopar parts bin thrown at it. It seems that Vin Diesel’s latest ride features Demon wheels, yet a stock Hellcat fascia with even wider aftermarket arch extensions, and a hood scoop that also similar to the Demon’s.

The Fast 9 crew is in its 13th week of shooting, and is expected to show up in London, Edinburgh, L.A., Thailand and Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. As for cars, while a few Dodges are a given, the latest Fast and Furious flick will also show off a very orange 2020 Toyota Supra, as well as a purple Noble M600, of all things.

Looking at the Fast 9 Charger, it seems at least one stunt car didn’t need more engine power.
