Photo Gallery: The Woodward Dream Cruise

Another Woodward Dream Cruise is in the books, and Hagerty was there in the thick of it all. Check out our gallery of the fantastic muscle cars, hot rods and other classics we spotted cruising Detroit's famed avenue, as well as some of the love birds who said "I do" all over again in our drive-thru vow renewal booth.

This cruise is on my bucket list. I drove Woodward Ave about 10 years ago out to Pontiac, MI. Unfortunately it was not in a muscle car just a airport rental car.

I am a Woodward Ave. Cruiser that grew up in Birmingham in the 1960's. There were a lot of races between "Teds" drive in and The Big Boy and Mavericks all summer long. The cars that were muscle sleepers were the ones that won the most. Plain Jane Dodge Coronets and Tempest's that had been built by "Ace" Wilson and The Ramchargers and old roadsters with blueprinted and balanced blown V8's. Thanks to Hagerty my 22 T Bucket might make the trip from California back home to Michigan and join the cruise next year.

When the EPA eventually gets around to closing WDC down because of the poisonous fumes of poorly tuned cars needlessly running race fuel in locked up traffic, go to the Back to the Bricks cruise-in up in Flint. Cars are parked. Engines off. Streets are wide open for use by pedestrians to see the cars up close and talk to the owners. You don't have to poison yourself with fumes and end up with a big headache at WDC. Go to Back to the Bricks.

We said "I do" at the Woodward Dream Cruise! What a nice idea! How thoughtful of Hagerty to plan such a fun event. This was just a few weeks after our 50th anniversary. This was our ninth year in a row to come to Woodward. Last year we started coming up on Thursday. It is a fun getaway for the whole family. And tomorrow we are going to our 51st high school reunion. A month of fun!!

Though I think the numbers were down on Saturday, it continues to impress.
