Index of Collectible Ford Mustangs

Ford’s Mustang popularized the pony car for American consumers in 1965, and the model is much adored by the Baby Boom generation as a result. The popularity of the Mustang in period means there is ample supply, and the abundance of spare parts helps keep operating costs low. The Mustang also enjoys great club support, which enhances the ownership experience.

All of these positives have helped Mustangs weather the recent economic storm. So while Mustangs are 19% off of their September 2008 high, they are still 41% ahead of their September 2006 average. This performance is largely courtesy of the mainstream models--1965 K Codes, Boss 302s, and first gen GTs--meaning most people who still have the same Mustang they owned three years ago are in fine shape. All the prices cited below are for cars in #2 condition. According to Hagerty Price Guide, #2 cars could win a local or regional show.     I have a 1964 1/2 mustang coup all matching # car. I think it was the 1036 mustang made. I'm in the process of restoring the car know. It' t's just about ready for primer. I was wondering what the car might be worth.

    Getting ready to paint. Have matching numbers 1969 Mach 1 w/ 390 automatic. how much value is added going back to original green verses 69 stock blue? (Editor's notes: Excellent question. Ten years ago, the answer might have been, go with resale red and be done with it. Today's market puts more stock in originality, unless you hate the green, it's probably best to go back to that color. That said, if you do a color change, make sure it's done right, with everything removed and as you note, you are far better off going with a color that was actually offered that year.)

I live in switzerland and have orrdeed a mustang GT. will be a 2012 model and arrive in may. can't wait! one reason why I orrdeed it is certainly that I always wanted to have an american car with a V8 cause for me these are simply the best sounding engines in the world. but besides, these cars just offer so much value for the money! even though I pay much more here for it then in america, a european car offering the same power would cost me like $ 120'000. go mustang!!
