Since its official inception in 2009, over 1,500 young people have been given insider’s access to the classic car and boat hobbies, through activities such as:
At many events around the country, young judges learn the basics of judging while taking a look at select vehicles, interacting with owners and learning details, facts and the history of each vehicle.
Hagerty Driving Experience
The Hagerty Driving Experience gives young adults the chance to drive classic cars, and more specifically, learn to properly drive those equipped with manual transmissions.
Youth Reporter Contest
The winner of the Operation Ignite! Youth Reporter contest wins all expense paid trips to four major collector car events and records stories for each event attended, featuring interviews with industry leaders and hobby celebrities.

Next Gen News, the official newsletter of Hagerty Operation Ignite!, is designed to keep young enthusiasts up-to-date on the hobby, while also providing fun stuff to get them excited about cars and boats.
Young Designers Contest
Hagerty's Young Designers Contest reaches out to young people who are passionate about design for great cars, providing them the opportunity to showcase their skills. Designers are asked to submit original renderings based on a specific theme each year. The top five finalists are selected by online voting and are awarded an expense-paid trip along with one guardian to Monterey, Calif., during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance for final judging.
